<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide that transforms the cross-sectional shape of a beam of laser light output from a laser light source and outputs a laser light having high uniformity of intensity distribution in the cross-section of the beam. <P>SOLUTION: In an light-irradiation apparatus 1, laser lights output from respective laser light source 10<SB>n</SB>are input to incident ends 30a of corresponding optical fibers 30<SB>n</SB>through corresponding lenses 20<SB>n</SB>, are guided from the incident ends 30a to corresponding outgoing ends 30b through the optical fibers 30<SB>n</SB>, are further guided from an incident end 40a of an optical waveguide 40 to an outgoing end 40b thereof and are output from the outgoing end 40b.
