PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for in-mold transfer foil, which is suitable particularly for shallow draw molding to medium draw molding. SOLUTION: The polyester film for in-mold transfer foil is characterized in that the thermal shrinkage rate of the polyester film treated at 180°C for 5 minutes is≤3.0% in the longitudinal direction and≤0.5% in the lateral direction, the stress when the polyester film is stretched by 5% at 25°C is 90-120 MPa in the longitudinal direction, the stress when the polyester film is stretched by 100% at 25°C is≤200 MPa in both of the longitudinal direction and the lateral direction and the breaking elongation of the polyester film is≥150% in the longitudinal direction.
