A protection device for a street post is provided to improve the appearance of road and to facilitate check-up, repair and replacement of the base part of the street post. A protection device for a street post comprises a first side cover member(10) installed on the top of concrete foundation to cover the periphery of the street post, a second side cover member(20) which is joined to the top of the first side cover member to be ascended and descended, a height adjusting member(30) whose bottom is combined with the first side cover member and top with the second side cover member in order to keep the height of the second side cover member, a cover plate member(40) which is detachably mounted on the top of the second side cover member, has a hole(41) through which the street post passes, and is split to bodies including a part of the post penetration hole, and a sealing member(50) which is combined to the post penetration hole and pressed onto the periphery of the street post.
