VIDEO SIGNAL PREPROCESSING METHOD, VIDEO SIGNAL PREPROCESSING APPARATUS AND VIDEO SIGNAL PREPROCESSING PROGRAM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a coding amount of coding results at a post stage of image coding while storing sensory impressions as much as possible by performing preprocessing of a luminance/color-difference separation type video signal based on human sensory characteristics at a prestage of the image coding.

SOLUTION: The luminance/color-difference separation type video signal is input, and by using a filter having a cut-off frequency which is previously determined by a subjective experiment, preprocessing for applying a spatial band suppression filter of which the low band cut-off frequency is C1 cycles/image and the high band cut-off frequency is C2 cycles/image (C1 and C2 are prescribed values determined by the subjective experiment) to respective luminance/color-difference signals included in the input video signal.
