PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for more rapidly and readily determining the onset risk of glaucoma in high accuracy, and to provide a kit for more rapidly and readily determining the onset risk of the glaucoma in high accuracy. SOLUTION: The method for determining the onset risk of the glaucoma uses SNP747 of a prostacyclin receptor gene in the human genome sequence as a marker for determining the onset risk of the glaucoma. When the identified result of the SNP747 is T, the onset risk of the glaucoma is determined to be high, and when the identified result of the SNP747 is C, the onset risk of the glaucoma is determined to be low.
