<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control unit and a vehicle mounted with this unit, capable of preventing breakage of the vehicle, by inhibiting the establishment of shift change toward a direction opposite to the driving direction caused by wrong operation of a shift lever during driving. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicle control unit controls the vehicle based on a detection signal from a shift range detecting means for detecting a shift range indicated by shift operation and a vehicle speed detecting means for detecting a vehicle speed. When the vehicle speed detecting means detects the vehicle speed of a first vehicle speed V<SB>1</SB>or more, when the shift range detecting means detects the shift range in the inverse direction of the vehicle advancing direction, the vehicle is controlled so as to forcibly reduce a speed by a speed reducing means possessed by the vehicle without establishing the shift change corresponding to the shift range, and the shift change is suitably established when detecting that the vehicle speed reduces up to the first speed V<SB>1</SB>or less by the vehicle speed detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
