<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability when exchanging a belt unit, and to prevent shaving of a tensioning and laying roller when exchanging the belt unit. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus to/from which a belt unit 125 having a belt 130 tensioned and laid on a plurality of tensioning and laying rollers 105, 121 and 122 is attached/detached has a pressure releasing member 129 moving the roller 122 applying tension to the belt 130 from a first position where it applies the tension to the belt 130 to a second position where application of the tension to the belt 130 is released. In such a state that the roller 122 is moved to the second position by the pressure releasing member 129, the rollers 105 and 121 on which the surface of the belt 130 opposed to a photoreceptor drum is tensioned and laid are engaged with positioning parts 126a and 126b of an apparatus body frame so as to position and attach the belt unit 125 to the apparatus body, and then the roller 122 is moved to the first position by the pressure releasing member 129, thereby applying the tension to the belt 130. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
