<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device possible to efficiently use an internal space thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A laser printer 1 comprises a casing 9, a fixing unit 6 movably provided in the casing 9 so as to perform fixing to a recording sheet P, and a sensor 8 for detecting existence of the recording sheet P. The sensor 8 has a detecting section 51A to be displaced with the recording sheet P, a shut-out member 70 as an example of an operating part to be displaced with the detecting section 51A, a first transmitting section 51B and a connecting member 60 positioned between the detecting section 51A and the shut-out member 70 as an example of a transmitting section for transmitting displacement of the detecting section 51A to the shut-out member 70, and a detecting element 80 for detecting displacement of the shut-out member 70. The connecting member 60 is formed by continuously joining a first and a second slit bodies 62 and 61 to each other.
