PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arm type valve gear which ensures smooth rotation of an adjust screw. SOLUTION: An arm type valve gear comprises a cylindrical housing 13 inserted into an accommodation hole 12 opening to the top surface of a cylinder head 1, an adjust screw 16 including in the outer periphery a male screw 15 threadedly engaged with a female screw 14 formed in the inner periphery of the housing 13, a return spring 18 biasing the adjust screw 16 in an upward projecting direction from the housing 13 by the return spring 18 and an arm 6 having a downward convex spherical surface 24 fitted to an upwardly opening concave spherical surface 22 formed at protruding end from the housing 13 of the adjust screw 16, wherein the arm 6 is swingably supported in the concave spherical surface 22.
