<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wash or dental rinse which can eliminate the side effects of antibiotics for dental treatments and the stress of patients, and can be used instead of antibiotics. <P>SOLUTION: An extract obtained by pulverizing the epicarps of the fruits of Garcinia mangostana in Guttiferae and then immersing and stirring the obtained powder in an aqueous ethanol solution, or a diluted solution of the extract is used as an external wash for dental treatments such as implant operations in a high concentration as much as possible, or as a dental rinse for post-operation treatments or stomatitis treatments. A xanthone derivative in the extract or its diluted solution exhibits an effective fibrin net formation-promoting action, can repair invaded sites such as gums in earlier than by using antibiotics without producing side effects, and thereby shows remarkable effects for curing inflammatory sites. The wash is dropped using a syringe, and a dental rinse is used for gargling.
