<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regenerative memory and a file access method, which install only a content permitted to install by automating a plurality of installation processes and calling a shared function (installation) for executing the content when these installation processes are executed. <P>SOLUTION: A regenerative memory 10 includes: an external device I/F 12 being connected with an external memory medium 16 for recording the contents; a recording device 20 for recording the content read from the external memory medium 16; and a processor 11 for regenerating or executing the recorded contents. The processor 11 directs an installation unit to perform the installation based on an instruction of installation from the content that the processor 11 is regenerating or executing, and also prevents an installation process to execute an action on the recording device 20 without using the installation unit.
