<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller for diagnosing an H-bridge circuit and a current detection circuit without applying a current to a motor. <P>SOLUTION: Switching elements 20, 22, 30 and 32 constitute the H-bridge circuit for controlling the rotation direction of the motor 2. In diagnostic operation, an ECU 60 turns on the switching elements 20, 24 and 40, and turns off the other switching elements 22, 30, 32 and 34. In this way, a current of predetermined value controlled by a constant current circuit 42 is applied through the switching elements 20, 40 while bypassing the motor 2. The ECU 60 detects a current value applied to the switching element 24, and diagnoses the switching elements 20, 24, 40, a resistor 26 and the constant current circuit 42 as to whether they are normal or not, based on a difference between the detected current value and an estimated current value estimated to be applied to the switching element 24 in accordance with a mirror ratio set for the switching element 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
