PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain reduction in weight, and to make an upper thread follow up horizontal acceleration according to the sliding speed demanded. SOLUTION: This pitching device 21 of an vehicle collision simulator includes the upper thread 4 located above a lower thread 2 and loaded with a sample 1, the rear-end side of which is supported to turn vertically, the front end side being supported to be vertically slid; and an actuator 11 for applying acceleration, at vehicle collision, wherein the acceleration in the case of an vehicle collision and the pitching operation are given to the sample 1. The front-end part of the actuator 11 side of the lower thread 2 is provided with a pair of upper and lower-guide rails 24, paired to the right and left; the front-end part 4a of the actuator 11 side of the upper thread 4 is provided with a V roller 51, engaged with the upper and lower guide rails 24, in a state of regulating the movement in the width direction; and the upper thread 4 is connected to the lower thread 2via the V roller 51 and the upper and lower-guide rails 24 to enable vertical translation sliding and to enable vertical turning.
