SOLUTION: The range of adequate refrigerating capacity is obtained from an arithmetic expression obtained by using a flow rate coefficient and a pressure coefficient at a specific operation point of a turbo compressor and a prescribed coefficient k and indicating the relationship between a head Had and the refrigerating capacity, by determining the coefficient as the optimum coefficient kopt by using the refrigerating capacity capable of achieving nearly the maximum coefficient of performance in the same head, operating a range of adequate operation coefficient of a prescribed range including the optimum coefficient kopt, and using the range of adequate operation coefficient and the head in the operation.
