PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily form such a multiple photography image as image multiplexing is not conspicuous in an image region not in focus. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes an imaging section 101 having imaging element and an imaging optical system including an aperture diaphragm for having the object image formed on the imaging element, an image processing system circuit including a vector measurement region setting section 103 and a motion vector calculation section 104 for forming one multiple photography image compounded from a plurality of images by aligning the plurality of images acquired at the imaging section 101, a main controller 100 for designating formation of a multiple photography image in the image processing system circuit, and an exposure conditions control section 107 for controlling set up of a restriction value of the aperture diaphragm according to the designation, wherein the imaging section 101 acquires the plurality of images with a restriction value set up at the exposure conditions control section 107 when the main controller 100 designated formation of a multiple photography image.
