PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Ni-Cu-based brazing filler metal for a heat exchanger made of stainless steel, even if variation is present in the gaps of respective components, which can securely braze and fix the spaces in the contact parts of all the components, further, has high corrosion resistance in a fillet part after brazing, and has specified or more strength. SOLUTION: An Ni-Cu-based brazing filler metal for a heat exchanger comprising, by weight, 5 to 15% Cu, 20 to 30% Cr, 3 to 5% Si and 3 to 6% P, and the balance Ni with inevitable impurities is used. the brazing filler metal is infiltrated into the respective gaps, further, the brazing filler metal is held to the gaps, and does not flow out, thus a heat exchanger having high reliability can be provided. Further, the corrosion resistance of the fillet part in the brazing filler metal is high, and a heat exchanger in which a temperature change occurs at high temperature can be permanently used.
