PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallized film capacitor having a small amount of leakage current even if forming an oil protective film and excellent adhesiveness to a metallicon. SOLUTION: The metallized film capacitor comprises an element wound by a pair of metallized films, where a metal vapor deposition electrode 2 is formed on a dielectric film 1, and metallicon electrodes 5 formed on both the end faces of the element. In this case, as the metallized films, an insulation margin 3 is provided longitudinally and successively at one end side in the width direction of the dielectric film 1, the metal vapor deposition electrode 2 is formed at a portion except the insulation margin 3, and the oil protective film 4 is formed on the metal vapor deposition electrode 2, thus preventing the oil protective film 4 formed on the metallized film from being formed on the insulation margin 3, and hence reducing a leakage current by reducing current flowing to the metallicon electrodes 5 from the metal vapor deposition electrode 2.
