PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid injection apparatus which has good maintainability even with a line type fluid injection head, and restrains ink from being wastefully consumed. SOLUTION: The fluid injection apparatus is provided with: a fluid injection head 13 having a plurality of nozzle groups each consisting of a plurality of nozzles 17 and injecting a fluid from each of the plurality of nozzles 17 to an injection target; and a maintenance section 11 making a film F having gas barrier properties abut on an injection surface 21A in the fluid injection head 13 while it does not inject the fluid.
