PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container conveying system capable of flexibly coping with a change of a conveyed container and capable of stopping the conveyed container by surely holding the conveyed container. SOLUTION: This container conveying system 10 comprises a pair of timing screw shafts 32 and 34 conveying a container 8 by pinching the container 8 between opposite spiral grooves, rotating belts 40, 42, 50 and 52 arranged downstream of the timing screws with a predetermined width interval from each other along the conveying direction on both side of a container conveyance passage, a position detecting sensor 24 for detecting whether the container 8 is conveyed to a predetermined detecting position or not, and a control device 70 for controlling to hold the container 8 in a stop position by stopping movement of the rotating belts 40, 42, 50 and 52 based on the detection of the container 8 by the position detecting sensor 24 and to install a heat contraction type film 6 in the container 8 by using an installing device 36.
