The seat substructure (10) has a rear cross rail (32) with a cross bar (40), where a vehicle seat (4) is displaceable along the cross bar in a transverse direction (14). The cross rail has another cross bar (42), which is placed at a distance from the former cross bar under formation of a free space in the transverse direction between the cross bars. An upper supporting part (50) of the cross rail is attached at the vehicle seat. The cross bars are aligned with each other in the transverse direction.
