The method involves lowering an asynchronous motor to low starting frequency and/or low starting voltage when the asynchronous motor does not start-up from switch-on within a preset time, until a current is lowered below a maximum current permissible during starting the asynchronous motor. The converter is started during switching the asynchronous motor with a rated frequency. The frequency and/or the voltage are increased, until the asynchronous motor is started and until the rated frequency and a rated voltage are reached. |
