The dishwasher has a basket-like storage container (1) including a holding device (9) provided with horizontally arranged supporting units for goods, where the supporting units comprise a variable supporting width. The supporting units are formed by two oppositely lying support rods of the storage container. The supporting rods act as longitudinal bars (7) or transverse bars (8), where a distance between the transverse and longitudinal bars is variably adjustable. The transverse and longitudinal bars are stored in a detachable manner, and are arranged parallel to each other.
