METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING SOFTWARE LIFECYCLE IN HOME NETWORK

A method for managing the software lifecycle in a home network and an apparatus thereof are provided to make a controlling device efficiently manage the software lifecycle of a controlled device. A message generator(402) produces a message for requesting the software lifecycle to be managed according to a predetermined condition. A transmitter(403) transmits the generated message to the controlled device(450). If the condition is satisfied, the message controls the controlled device so as to install, execute, uninstall and upgrade the software. The message includes location information of the software.
