<p>The present invention provides an apparatus and assembly for creating a seal in a wellbore around a cable or line. The assembly includes a longitudinal body and a swellable portion 15 which comprises a material selected to increase in volume on exposure to at least one triggering fluid. The swellable portion 15 has a formation 18 open to the longitudinal surface which provides a pathway for a cable or line 22 to extend through the swellable portion 15, and an insert of swellable material 24. In an embodiment of the invention, the insert 24 partly or fully encloses or encapsulates the cable or line.</p> |
