The rotating atomizer has a rotating shaft for the cup plate (4) to generate a spray stream at the surface to be coated, and at least one deflection outflow (8,9) for deflection air forming the spray stream. An air supply line (18) within the housing (7), to deliver air to the deflection outflows, passes at least partially axially through the bearing unit (19) of the drive turbine (5). The bearing unit has at least one deflection air outlet at its mantle surface, linked by a drilling (23) to the deflection air outlet at the end side towards the cup plate.
