An HID(High Intensity Discharge) ballast embedded with a switch is provided to reduce the fabrication cost and simplify the configuration by adding an switching function with a microprocessor installed inside the ballast. An EMI filtering unit(100) blocks the radiation of an internal noises to the outside from the ballast, and a PFC unit(200) improves the power factor by receiving the power filtered by the EMI filtering unit. A first transform unit(400) generates a DC power source by receiving from the PFC unit the power source of which power factor is improved. A second transform unit(500) generates AC power source by receiving the DC power source from the first transform unit, and an igniter unit(600) stabilizes an HID lamp by receiving the AD power source from the second transform unit and applying a high voltage pulse to the HID lamp. A microprocessor unit(700) generates a pulse width modulation signal and supplies the pulse width modulation signal to the first transform unit, and supplies a square wave by receiving a tube current or tube voltage. |
