<p>The guide wire (1) has a one-piece cylindrical core (10) extending from a proximal end (3) to a distal end (2). The core has twisted fibers e.g. glass fibers, which are embedded in a base material e.g. plastic such as polyaryletheretherketone, of the core, where the material of the fibers includes silicon-dioxide. Each fiber extends over the entire length of the core such that the fibers are twisted under axial tension and heat effect. The core has a magnetic resonance-marker (15) and a coating (20) that is made from plastic e.g. polyurethane and polyamide. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a catheter-guide wire.</p> |
