METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR VIDEO ENCODING AND DECODING

A codec method of an image and an apparatus thereof for compensating quantizing loss about a first residual block from the frequency domain of image are provided to improve the PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) of the image by compensating the loss of residual signal. A first residual block which is difference between a prediction macro block and a current macro block is generated(320). A compensated residual block is generated by compensating quantization loss about first residual block in frequency domain(330). The compensated prediction macro block is generated by adding the compensation residual block and prediction macro block(340). The second residual block which is difference between the current macro block and the compensated prediction macro block are encoded(350).
