<p>A portable terminal having a rotary button and a control signal generating method using the same are provided to reduce the number of input units by generating, various control signals through the rotary button. A rotary button(30) is equipped at one side of a portable terminal and rotates centering on a rotation shaft. If the rotary button is rotated, an encoder(34) generates a rotation input signal. The rotation input signal includes the number of pulse signals corresponding to the rotational angle. According to the input speed of the rotation input signal, a controller(60) selectively generates the other control signals.</p> |
