An ECU executes a program that includes a step (S108) of turning a 1st speed take-off history flag on when the vehicle speed is substantially not zero (i.e., NO in step S102) and the actual gear speed is 1st speed (i.e., YES in step S106); a step (S116) of turning on a 2nd speed take-off determination flag when the vehicle speed is substantially not zero (i.e., NO in step S102), the actual gear speed is 2nd speed (i.e., YES in step S110), and the 1st speed take-off history flag is off (i.e., NO in step S112); and a step (S124) of prohibiting a downshift instruction when a required gear speed is 1st speed, the actual gear speed is 2nd speed (i.e., YES in step S120), and the 2nd speed take-off determination flag is on (i.e., YES in step S122). Accordingly, an instruction to shift against the intentions of the driver can be suppressed. |
