<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight module for a liquid crystal display device with improved shock resistant property. <P>SOLUTION: The housing for the backlight module is composed of a light emission unit 10, a light guide plate 20 having a protrusion 21, and a bottom part casing 41 and a side frame 42 for selectively holding a plurality of optical plates 30.
