PHOSPHOR MIXTURE AND PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL COMPRISING THE PHOSPHOR MIXTURE

A phosphor composition, and a plasma display panel using the composition are provided to improve luminous efficiency by having the afterglow time of 9 ms or less and to prevent residual image and/or flickering. A phosphor composition comprises a compound represented by Zn(Ga_(1-X)Al_X)_2O_4:Mn^(2+) (0.2<=X<=0.8) and a compound represented by Gd_(1-y)Tb_yAl_3(BO_3)_4 (0.05<=Y<=0.8) or a compound represented by YBO_3:Tb^(3+) in a ratio of 3:7 ~ 6:4 by weight. A plasma display panel comprises a first substrate(211) and a second substrate(221) facing each other; a phosphor layer(225) located at the discharge space between the two substrates; a discharge electrode impressing voltage for the discharge of the discharge space; and a discharge gas injected into the discharge space, wherein the phosphor layer is formed from the composition.
