<p>The method involves operating an Ethernet controller defined according to IEEE 802.Xstandard in a RAW- mode, in which no filtering is accomplished to a media access control destination address of Ethernet-frames. A time-stamp is registered in an area of the address, and an original destination address is coded in the remaining area. The frames are stamped in a device provided between the controller and a physical layer. An independent claim is also included for a system for bringing a time-stamp in Ethernet-frames comprising a device for stamping Ethernet-frames between Ethernet controller and a physical layer.</p> |
