Utilisation of ash from Bor heating plants for treatment of waste copper sulphuric acid solutions formed in the process of electrolytycal refining of copper.Bor heating plants burn 60,000 to 75,000 tons of coal yearly, and 20 to 30 % is fresh ash lying of which with clear river or lake water results in obtaining clear solutions pH-12-14 by which neutralization of acid solutions is carried out and therwih obtained are CaSO4 ٠2H2O; Cu (OH)2; Ni(OH)2 ٠ Fe(OH)2 and a clear solution pH-6,5-7,5 which is drained into the waters of the Timok river.Hydroxides are separated from CaSO4 ٠2H2O by dissolving with the main solution pH-0-1 after separation CuSO4 ٠5H2O and therewith concentrate CuSO4 ; NiSO4 ; FeSO4 and return into the production process CuSO4 ٠ 5H2O, gypsum is washed and the washed solutions return to the process of neutralization.Washed CaSO4 ٠2H2O returns to the process of copper smelting as a replacement for CaCO3 or it is produced as a casting plaster. Process solves the pollution of waters and irreversible loss of Cu and Ni and costly technologies which are pure energy consumers and pollutants of waters and air.
