METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECEIVING OF UWB IR SYSTEMS

A method and an apparatus for receiving ultra wideband impulse radio systems are provided to obtain correct synchronization by adoptively estimating effective channel length depending on the channel environment. A template generating unit(31) produces the template which is for the transmission signal with the detection. By using the output of the template generating unit, the effective channel length estimating unit(32) estimates the effective channel length. A synchronization estimator(33) estimates the exact synchronization using the output of the template generating unit and an output of the effective channel length estimating unit. A matched filter(36) detects data symbol using outputs of synchronization estimator based on LS in a received signal.
