A short arc typed high-pressure discharge lamp is provided to maintain the constant resistance of the welding portion by arranging the conductive member between the circumference of the core and the aperture part of the first metal plate. The sealing pipe part(12) is protruded to both ends of the valve part(11) for forming the discharge space. The anode(13) and the cathode(14) are faced inside the valve part. The core(15) holding anode or cathode is formed after one side of the sealing pipe part. The first metal plate(16) is welded in the core. The cylindrical form(17) of the quartz glass material contacts with each other with the first metal plate through the core. The Mo metal film(19) welding in the first metal plate is arranged in the side of the column shaped body. The outer lead rod(21) is connected to the second metal plate. The outer lead rod passes through the partition member(22) for keeping the outer lead. The metal film and column shaped body are inserted into the glass type body.
