A composition for preventing and treating bacterial enteritis or coccidiosis comprises oriental medicinal herb containing Curcumae Rhizoma, Coptidis Rhizoma, Scutellariae Radix, Phellodendri Cortex, Gardeniae Fructus, Paeoniae Radix, Rhei Rhizoma and Terminaliae fructus. The oriental medicinal herb is extracted using water, ethanol, or its mixture solvent. The composition has the effects of promoting the growth of cattle and poultry. The composition is used in the form of powder, granule or tablet.
