The method involves selectively activating high and low pressure exhaust gas recycling loops (22, 23) based on a value of an operating parameter of a supercharged diesel engine (20) of a motor vehicle i.e. car, where the parameter comprises water temperature and temperature of exhaust gas at an inlet of an oxidation catalyst of a particle filter (14). The selective activation of the high and low pressure exhaust gas recycling loops is performed for recycling a part of exhaust gas from the engine of the vehicle. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising instructions for performing a method for controlling air flow in a supercharged diesel engine of a motor vehicle (2) a device for controlling air flow in a supercharged diesel engine of a motor vehicle, comprising a controlling unit.
