An abrasive cutting blade is provided to achieve high-quality surface finish es at high feed rates. The blade is fabricated by electroplating fine abrasive onto a steel cathode disc to form a first layer, followed by electroplating a second layer of coarser abrasive onto the first layer. A third layer of fine abrasive is then electroplated onto the second layer. The resulting composit e is then removed from the cathode disc to form a multi-grit, multi-layer, hub - less blade.
