The system has a wireless network for sending signals to a part of a selected group of sailboats (2), where the network includes a transmitter and a receiver. A display unit (10) is provided onboard each sailboat for viewing the signals by users of the sailboats, where the signals include minimum safety warnings. A position determining unit determines a position of the selected group of sailboats and displays the relative positions of sailboats in the group. An independent claim is also included for a method for displaying signals to a selected group of users.
