A composite wind turbine tower is provided to cut down on the cost of the manufacturing facility because the tower manufacturing process can be performed in the field. A composite wind turbine tower comprises matrix material, a first layer(501), a second layer(701), and a core layer(601). The first and second layers comprise plural reinforcing fibers. The plural reinforcing fibers are arranged within the matrix material. The core layer is arranged in the middle between the first and second layers. The tower can be partially or completely manufactured in the field. |
