A data recording/reproducing method and apparatus are provided to utilize wasted part of the recording medium to the utmost by constructing various types of holography. A data recording/reproducing method includes a step of letting signal beam and reference beam enter a unit recording region of a recording medium(100), wherein the signal beam contains data and the reference beam interferes with the signal beam, and a step of letting the signal beam and the reference beam enter the unit recording region while varying incident position of the signal beam and the incident angle of the reference beam.
