<p>The invention is based on the finding that cells that show (especially tyrosine) phosphorylation of FGF-R substrate 2 (FRS-2), in contrast to cells that lack such phosphorylation, allow a prediction that treatment with a modulator, especially an inhibitor, of Fibroblast Growth Factor-Receptor signaling will be successful in cells e.g. from biological samples from patients that show such phosphorylation. Therefore, the phosphorylation of FRS-2 can serve as a biomarker for the possibility of successful treatment. The invention relates to various methods, uses, kits and reagents useful in applying this biomarker.</p> |
