<p>A method and a device for providing content download service reducing the play pause time are provided to increase contents transmission by selecting the transmitting contents in advance. A contents selector(200) preferentially determines the contents which is the time or less when hour of looking and listening are set up in advance with the contents transmitted in advance. A network communication unit(202) receives the identifying information about the stored contents. An encoding unit(206) has audio and video signal as the MPEG2-TS(Moving Picture Experts Group2-Transport Stream) stream format with the conversion.
