A train wheel abrasion monitoring system and a method thereof are provided to detect the generation of abrasion and the degree of the abrasion by detecting hot spot which is increased by crash between an abrasion site and a rail. A train wheel abrasion monitoring system comprises a train registration number detecting unit(60), a wheel detecting unit(70), an image taking unit(10), an image processing unit(20), a display alarm unit, a database unit(90), a control switch unit, and a controller(50). The train registration number detecting unit detects the train registration number. The wheel detecting unit detects wheels. The image taking unit takes the image about the rail temperature distribution after wheel passes. The image processing unit analyzes the image about rail temperature distribution imaged through the image taking unit and detects the generation of the abrasion. The display alarm unit shows the monitoring result. The database unit makes the monitoring result into database. The controller controls to make the monitoring result into database. |
