This invention relates to methods and pharmaceutical compositions for treating amyloid-&bgr; related diseases, including Alzheimer's disease. The invention, for example, includes a method of concomitant therapeutic treatment of a subject in need thereof, comprising administering an effective amount of a first agent to the subject comprising a compound or a mixture of compounds having at least one of the following structures:and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; wherein said first agent treats an amyloid-&bgr; disease, neurodegeneration, or cellular toxicity and a second agent characterised in that said second agent is donepezil. |
