A method for supporting coexistence considering sub channel allocation in a broadband wireless access system is provided to simultaneously use WWAN wireless communication and WPAN/WLAN wireless communication, thereby improving performance of coexistence. An MS(Mobile Station) transmits coexistence information to a BS(Base Station) through a MAC message to request adjacent subcarrier permutation(230). The BS transmits a response about coexistence information to the MS(240). The MS turns off Bluetooth(260). The MS transmits coexistence information to the BS through a MAC message to request release of the adjacent subcarrier permutation(270). The BS transmits a response about the coexistence information to the MS(280).
