A method and system for remotely controlling a portable wireless communication handset is disclosed. The method includes receiving (304) a control signal at a wireless accessory transceiver of the portable wireless communication handset. The method also includes interpreting (308) the control signal to control a function of the portable wireless communication handset when a condition is satisfied.
