An electric range and an induction coil unit thereof are provided to operate an induction coil and its neighboring induction coils at the same time in order to cook rapidly. An electric range(10) comprises a plate(20), an induction coil unit and a controller. Cooking containers(50,51,56,52) are placed on the top of the plate. The induction coil unit includes a plurality of induction coils. A plurality of induction coils are arranged at the bottom of the plate. The controller controls the operation of the induction coil unit. At least one straight portion is positioned in at least one induction coil.
