The system (SYS) has a determining unit (17) for detecting location of a motor vehicle and detecting sliding of a wheel, where the system is autonomous. A control unit (11) controls speed of the wheel and determines a torque setpoint of a power train (34) based on reception of a logic signal from the determining unit. A calculating unit (4) calculates a sliding regulating setpoint and determines a rotation speed setpoint of the wheel and a torque setpoint to the wheel based on the signals received from sensors (1) and the determining unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a power train of a motor vehicle.
